This is a 52v battery designed to squeeze more power out of your stock 48 volt system without having to change your controller or motor. To get more information read our article on 52 volt batteries.

We took the best Japanese cells on the market for energy density and stuffed them into this little case to pack incredible range and still keep your ebike lightweight and stealth looking. 

Ultimate Long Range in a very small size

We designed these packs using a common ebike case, but filled them with quality name brand 18650 cells utilizing the latest battery chemistry to get the highest possible power density. This means despite these packs small size and light weight, they will get you tons and tons of range. These packs have more amp hours than any commercial ebike, who skimp and use generic cells which are known for being low power density and short battery life.  In fact we so disbelieve in generic cells, we are not even offering them as an option. We only offer quality cells in our packs not cheap no name cells like almost everyone else does.

Cell Choice

This pack is crammed full of the highest quality cells in the industry. 56 cells is a 14s4p configuration. That means 4 rows of  14 to give you the voltage and amp hour you need. Depending on the cell you choose you will have 11.6 or 13.5ah which means the amount of range you will get.

Here are your cell choices:

Panasonic GA - 14 ah is the highest energy density available in an 18650 cell and this is one of the most expensive and most respected 18650s on the market. 

Panasonic PF - This cell is an excellent choice if you are running a high power drive such as the BBHD-1000w Bafang drive, or any high amperage system. This cell will easily put out 30amps continuous.  The cell is not the same energy density as the NCR B 3400 so you will sacrifice a little range.

Regarding Amps: These packs will easily put out 30amps (1500 watts) and even more for short bursts. If your kit can handle 52 volts, and is 30amps or less these are ideal packs for you.

Do not worry about the high amps of this battery burning out your controller...the controller will only take the amps it needs.  Do not accept BS from other manufacturers that ebike batteries are different. As long as the voltage matches this battery will work with any commercial ebike or kit. 

Regarding voltage: 

You cannot fry a controller by selecting a battery with too many amps. Voltage however, you need to be careful with.  If you want to be extra safe if you are running a 48 volt system go with a 48 battery and do not try to get the extra power the 52 volts will get you. But more than likely your 48 volt system will easily handle a 52 volt battery.

This is a 14s (52 volt) battery. This means that with the same controller you will get more power from the same amps. Fun...however make sure your controller can handle up to 60 volts...which is what a 52-volt battery puts out when fully  charged, otherwise you can fry your controller. 

Most DIY controllers have a range of volts they will accept...and most descent 48-volt controllers can handle 52 volts...but this is something you must verify about your controller before ordering this battery.  And more than likely the only way to really know is to test with a 52 volt battery.

All the 48v kits and controller Luna cycles sales are compatible with our 52 volt batteries.


Regarding Battery Gauge:

One draw back of running a 52 volt battery on a 48 volt system, is the cheap battery handlebar gauge that comes with your kit or ebike will not be as accurate (and they are usually not very accurate to start with). To solve this you could invest in a cycle analyst or watt meter which will give you a completely accurate battery gauge. The battery gauge built onto the battery will still be fairly accurate so you can just use that, just you will not have a handlebar mounted battery gauge (no big deal).   Due to how voltage sag works with lithium the gauge built onto the battery may show almost full until you reach about 40% capacity.



Most people mount this battery to the downtube of their frame (where the water bottle usually goes) but its very versatile where it can be mounted. Because it is so lightweight (7.5  pounds) it can be used in a backpack.

Because of its hard plastic enclosure you don't need to worry about padding this battery like you would on one of our shrink wrapped batteries. 

This is a very easy to mount battery. It has a mounting bracket that will mount to most water bottle screw holes in the frame. If not you can drill threaded holes into your frame to accommodate it. Or you can use zipties etc.  Once the bracket is installed it's a breeze to take the battery on and off....So you can have extra batteries that you carry on your ride that would easily fit in a backpack or on the racks on your bike.

With the GA cells, what an improvement over my NCRB celled battery!

This is an upgrade for me from NCRB cells to GA cells and I can pull many more watts with the GA celled battery on my BBS02 and i love it! The improvement is like when I went from 48 volts to 52v. I haven't used the PF cells so I can't say anything about them, but the GA cells really help for when I am late to work. Thanks Luna!!!

Great battery!

This battery is awesome for the Rad Rover just broken in and it even got better after the 4th or 5th time I charged it, again great battery great range and I'll always keep buying from Luna cycle thanks guys!
