I have previously built a couple peddle gas bikes and have been looking to build a E-bike for some time now. Originally I was looking for a mountain bike platform but decided on a crossover. It’s important to have a “solid” bike when adding any kind of motor assist. After shopping around, I have found with the extras that Luna puts into their bikes I could not build the same bike for the same price myself (including shipping). Knowing what it takes to build a “clean” looking bike (all wires cut to correct lengths and neatly tucked) correctly assembled and set up it is a big plus letting them do it. I have had this bike (Luna Aguila) for about 4 weeks now 200+ mi later and am VERY happy with it. Some numbers ……… In hi gear (9 gear set with 42 front) at assist setting 1 (being the lowest of 5) I am tooling around at 19-21 mph. for wind and hills I will set it at 2. With these settings and me being 200 + weight I get approx. 40 mi at 100% charge. 35 mi @ 90%, 30 mi @ 80%. At full throttle I get about 34 mph (to fast !) but at that the Batt charge won’t last long either. Wife is thinking of getting a bike also ...... I know where I will be shopping. Brad V.
