very happy with the performance
I have the 2016 version of this bike with the Ludicrous controller. I like the color change for the new year.
The bike really needs the 48T chainring. Mine came with 42T. Looks like Luna has changed that for the better. The Eclipse ring provides a very good chain line on this frame.
The bike really needs more brake. I've upgraded the front rotor and may do it again. I'd also consider the triangle pack since the downtube is wedge shaped. I also prefer a wider dirt drop bar but that's personal preference. It's important, though, to be confident on a bike at higher speeds...
and there's a whole lot of speed. Riding 30-35 mph is effortless, 40+ is possible. Investing in a programming cable is wise, especially with the upgraded controller, to optimize the PAS levels. You really want better control of power in the lower PAS levels so that it rides like a proper road bike.
I'm very impressed with how great commutes are, I look forward to every ride. I think the prevailing belief that full suspension MTBs are needed at 30 mph is really misguided. If you don't try something like this Grit you're missing out.
