Rear sub frame bends under torque
The bike is everything you'd hope for in a full suspension, powerful ebike...but for one thing. The rear sub frame isn't up to the job of handling even 30a of torque let alone 50am. After 300 miles the rear wheel sits visibly at an angle to the main frame. I may try to bend it back for I know that is only asking for it to eventually break...so, I'm a bit disappointing in this one issue otherwise it's a blast to ride. I have reduced the current limiter to 18a to try and save the frame but at some point I will have to source another rear from KHS or transplant the fork to another bike.
KHS SixFifty 7200 Ebike: First test run
My new KHS SixFifty 7200 with 1500w Bafang mid-drive just arrived at my house today. First things first...This bike is a masterpiece; an engineering marvel meets downhill beast-mode artistry on wheels!.
After a 20 minute minor assembly & topping off the battery charge, I took my 1st ebike out for a test run. I've read a ton of forums & reviews, but really had no idea what to expect and I was honestly a bit skeptical about the power & performance...my bad!!!
It was easy getting this thing to hit 30mph & It had absolutely no problem climbing long steep hills at ridiculous speeds. Transitioning through power assist mode and thumb throttle was intuitive and I was able to quickly adjust to using these controls in concert with manual pedaling to get the perfect combination for peak performance, efficiency & good aerobic effort. Despite having the power of a motorized vehicle, it totally feels & rides like a high performance mountain bike; handling single-track trails with jumps, tight turns & technical terrain was insane! I may never want to ride my other bikes again! It's as fun riding uphill as it is downhill & that's exactly what I was going for! I had really high hopes for this bike and right out of the gate it has exceeded my expectations!
I obviously haven't had the bike long enough to test its durability & reliability, but at this point I'm confident this bike would still be a great deal at 5 grand. I'm not sure why their price point is so far below the competition, but it's really cool what they're doing!
