Luna Charger Operation Manual
The Luna Charger was made to our specifications from the largest most reputable ebike charger ma
nufacturer in China. Because we ordered in large volume we got a very good price and pass that price onto you. We mean the charger to be a statement of what we want to do...offer one of a kind products at an affordable price.
Features:
-
Charger is configured with reverse polarity, over current, over voltage, and short circuit protections.
-
Fuse protected
-
precise limit of voltage and current, intelligent control and avoid over charge.
-
simple Dual LED indicators : Led 1 shows shows power is on, LED 2-red shows the battery being charged., or green shows the battery fully charged or no load at DC side.
-
Voltage display shows the output voltage inside the charger, and the voltage of the battery.
How to Operate
Check the parameters of the charger and the parameters of the battery to ensure the compatibility of the charger with your battery.
Our charger comes with an xt-60 connector. We recommend xt60s for quality charge plugs and if you decide to change to xt60 you can buy them from our store. If you need to connect your own connector make sure the red cable goes to positive of your connector, and the black wire goes to negative. You can either cut the wire while charger is off and install your connector or make an adapter to go from xt-60 to your charge port. For dolphin, shark, bottle, and most other chinese battery cases that use a 5.5 barrel plug you can buy an adapter from our store for only $5.
USING THE WRONG CHARGER ON A BATTERY IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
Make especially sure that the chargers maximum voltage is the same as your Batteries maximum voltage. The 48v chargers max voltage is 54.6v the 52v model of chargers max voltage is 58.8v. Your batteries maximum voltage must match these.
Make sure you plug in your charger to the wall outlet before plugging into battery pack.
Users can choose how many amperage they want their charge currrent with the red toggle on the back of the battery.
On the Red switch its marked for 3 or 5. 5 stands for 5 amps and 3 stands for 3 amps. A small screw driver or allen key must be used to change this switch. Be careful about charging batteries 10ah and smaller at 5ah speed…..it could cause your pack to get hot and do damage to your pack. Try to charge 3 amps whenever possible with any pack to prolong its life.
Red Toggle Switch 80 /90/100 percent charge
The Red Toggle switch can partially charge your battery to prolong its life. We recommend you go to full charge only when you are planning a long ride, and you do not store your batttery fully charged. The toggle fully up means 80%, in the middle position is 90% and 100% with the toggle all the way down is fully charged.
When LED 1 is red it means the power is on. When LED 2 Turns red and the fan stops, the battery is fully charged (according to toggle setting) , and the charger will stop charging.
Notices
-
Never attempt to charge a defective or damaged battery. Never charge a battery without a working BMS (battery management system)
-
This charger is configured for use with Luna 18650 battery packs. We make no guarantees or compatibility using other batteries. Please be sure the voltage matches your battery. For example only use the 48v charger on a 48v pack.
-
-
It is up to the user to determine if the charger is appropriate for his battery.
Troubleshooting
-
IF the charger does not work properly, please make sure the charger and battery are connected properly.
-
(the voltage display will light up even if you are not plugged into the household current.. Look at the red led on the back of the charger to make sure you are getting power.
-
The charger should be used in a well ventilated area.
-
The aluminum case is an important part of heat dissipation….make sure it isn't covered up or smothered.
-
Check the fuse on the back to see if it is burned. For your convenience the charger comes with 2 extra charges.
-
Unplug the battery and plug it back in to reset. (sometimes this is needed after changing percentage charge switch). If this doesnt work try unplugging battery, and unplug from wall switch...plug in the wall switch first and then the battery.
Max voltage for each model of Luna Charger at 100 percent setting:
36v 42v
48v - 54.6v
52v 58.8v
72v - 84v
