after putting my first solid 50 miles on my first ever electric folding bike,
few things i will say here abut my whole experience,
about the seller: over all the service is great from ordering my bike to the point when i had to go to do a self pickup of my bike because someone within luna DELIVERY dept. didn't pay attention while putting the right shipping address which caused me about 50 miles journey to do a self collect at my nearest fedex depot, thank god for having a mini van in which i somehow was able to squeeze the bike box, not to forget that upon informing luna team they gave me little gas money to go get my bike myself, well after i received my bike and did unboxing i realized i to get a replacement battery bag which had one out of 2 straps with broken clip, again the luna team with few emails back and forth sent me a topeak barnd new battery bag free of cost.
about the bike: okey here is the good part of my review, the bike after doing my first 50 miles i am giving u guys who could be potential buyers of this product some honest details,
my body weight and height: 190lbs, 5.11"
area where i reside: long island with mostly okey roads for cycling with few solid inclines.
the bike quality: 10 out of 10
water resistance: yes the electrics on this bike can withstand some serious rainy weather.
comfort: wasn't able swap stock seat post with suspension seat post due to the fact this bike seat tube has a very unique design to keep its seat post sturdy, it has this little bump which stops the seat post from moving side to side which at first i didn't get because i wanted suspension seat post but now i understand how important this feature is especially for little folding bike like this, and i would recommend serfas x cruiser e gel saddle, worth every penny.the handle bar grips are okey but not the best.
the mechanical components: the gears levers are very well made, the disc brakes are mechanical but does the job very well, the wheels are very nice no flex, i don't know how it would feel to ride an e bike without gear shift sensor but thank god i went for one, and its just amazing feeling everytime i shift gears, the rear wheel due to the fact has quick release function requires some adjusting but after few small runs and i got the right sweet spot where the rear wheel wont rub against the rear disc caliper and can cause friction.
about the range with 52v 6ah mighty mini pack BBSO2 motor: after playing around with e bike i have come to the conclusion that try to use paddle assist when u need it regardless of ur gear cause u will be paddling in order to move but when u wana use throttle i would highly recommend to use low gears on back wheel cog, because this motor don't like moving in high gear for long and will heat up pretty quick and will drain ur little mighty mini pack very quickly, not that i have experienced any motor cut out yet. i think if u use motor assist sensibly u can happily do miles trip in one charge.
overall experience: well i have to say its 9/10 only because i had to go and pick up my bike 50 freaking miles away due to wrong delivery address provided by luna.
otherwise this bike is a 10/10 from my experience.
