A Good, but Oddball, Product
I've only had the bike for a short while and only ridden it 3 times, so far, for a total of around 30 miles. Regard this review as preliminary. They started out with a pretty good folding bike, and grafted the e-bike system onto it. If anything, the bike is "overpowered" for what it is, and its size. If you put the pedal assist at 1 (out of 6) it is hugely noticeable; I can't see using more than that level of assist most of the time. Once you get up to level 3, you feel like Superman. The throttle is powerful enough to make you nauseated. I weigh 150 lbs, but if you were much heavier perhaps the power wouldn't be so overwhelming.
Unless you are going up a steep hill, and if you have any level of baseline fitness, it is easy to get up to the bikes "effective" maximum speed, which is around 25 mph. Even at 20 mph, you have basically exhausted the gearing and any pedaling will be entirely gratuitous much beyond that speed. But then, folding bikes tend to be heavy and not really designed in most cases for going fast. I'm not sure I would even want to go faster than 25 mph on this bike, you might feel like a clown in the circus dong that.
In summary, it's a nice bike, the e-bike components are good, you can fold it, and the setup is adjustable to fit most people. But if you want an e-bike that will be stable and can take you very fast, this one is probably not it.
